Procrastination and angst
Why do I seem so incapable of getting myself to write my internship journals? So stupid.

Stressed but oh so glad to be alive!
Music: Swallow by Wailin' Jennys
Today, Lenora, Tobias and I went to Indiana Beach as a belated grad present. We've been planning on going all summer, but this was the first opportunity that we actually had. The plan was to go to the water park, but what started out as a sunny day quickly turned overcast and rainy and cold, so we rode the other rides instead. I didn't ride alot of them, because coasters really aren't my thing, but I still had fun, mostly because I was hanging out with my sister who I've adored since I was capable of the emotion. We got home around 5:30 and I turned around and headed north to Fallon's house with Phoebe to work on music for the review. It was a blast talking with Phoebe on the way up and down. She really is an amazing woman. And of course there was the singing :-D And Fallon's maniac kitten. Tomorrow's going to be a full day, and then Andre' and Dancy will be here, and I'll be busy with family stuff, then the review, and the dunes on Sunday, crazy packing on Monday and leaving on Tuesday. And then I'll officially be a nanny! Ekk!
Come to the review: Friday and Saturday at 7:00 at New World

I feel
Music: Some Good Thing from Wailin Jennys new cd Firecracker!! :)
I'm an emotional wreck the last couple days. Highs, lows, longings, confusion. And there's no concrete reason for any of it (well, that can be debated, most girls would know what I meant) I feel like a big mass of loose ends that I don't have the motivation to tie up. I just want a rest from the responsibility and the going. One day just to relax and not feel guilty about it.
I found something out recently that's hard. I know it shouldn't affect me the way it does, at the same time, no one would blame me for feeling weird about it. It hurts. It makes me angry. It's not fair. But I'm happy with what I have. More than happy! Ecstatic. So why...

An Update
Well, since I've been silent for so long, I have alot to talk about.
I have a job! Yippy! I got the nanny job. The family lives about 2 miles from where we're going to be, and there are two boys, 4 and 7. I start Aug. 16 and it'll be M-Th 7-6:30. Long days, but 3 day weekends. I like the trade off. It's going to be a challenging job, but I'm excited about that.
The apartment is also working out, although we won't be able to move in until the last week of Aug./labor day weekend. It's going to be a three bedroom :) I'm so excited about moving in with these girls. It's going to be a blast. I'm not looking forward to having to pack up all my stuff, but o, well.
My sisters and I went out for supper last night, and it was great to spend time with them. I'm going to miss seeing my family as much as I have been this summer and this last semester. It's been great watching Shemaya grow and spending more time with Karis' kids.
Today was my last day of internship, and I'm kind of sad that it's over. I really loved working with my teacher, and the kids were sweet. I learned so much more in the second half of my internship than the first, and in some ways, the contrast between the two was a really good educational tool. Waterford was more organized, my teacher was more motivated and worked better with the kids, and overall I felt more involved.
Things with Mike are good :) There's not much else to say with that other than the fact that we're both a little nervous about this upcoming separation, but that we both feel that it's a challenge worth attempting. He makes me happy.
Aug. 11 and 12 there's going to be a Broadway review at New World that I've been helping to put together. It been stressful getting it all worked out, but I really think it's going to work out and that it will be a fun time for all involved (I'm crossing my fingers). If you're in the area, you should come. It starts at 7 and costs $5.

buring the candle
Music: I'll Cover You from Rent (movie version)
How ugly that last post was! Ick. It really isn't all that bad.
So the apartment looks like it's going to work out after all. Not exactly how we planned it, but that's ok.
And now I have the happy difficulty of trying to schedule two different job interviews in one day with a schedule that doesn't have alot of room in it. One for a nanny position and one for a Receptionist position. Yeah!
My internship is going well. I love my teacher! She's so good. And today I was in charge of the class for a while, and she told me when we talked afterward that I have a natural teaching instinct, and that if I have interest in it, that she would encourage me to pursue teaching! That felt good.
Other than that, I've been going going going! I don't sleep enough. Sleep or spending time with friends/Mike/my family..... not a hard choice for this little one, but that doesn't mean I don't suffer the consequences. Looking forward to the upcoming move. Not looking forward to actually moving.
